A great start to your maths lesson.
The Class tool on MathsStarters provides two ways of managing the selection of students in your class.
Pick one student at a time, randomly, from your saved class.
Select the next student from across the room with a Presenter Remote.
Create groups of randomly selected students from your saved class. As you specify the number of groups, the tool shows how big the groups will be.
Removing an absent student from the selection does not change your saved class.
This tool creates visibly random groups, a term coined by Peter Liljedahl. See Building a Thinking Classroom in Math for a brief introduction to Peter's work and for more details, his work on Building thinking classrooms.
